THE YEAR

WELCOME TO ST. DENIS

The Great War ended six years ago. The soldiers came back changed. Industry boomed but the money went upward. The streets smell of coal smoke and river mud.


St. Denis is a sprawling industrial port city where organized crime, class warfare, bootleg whiskey, and political corruption define daily life. The gap between rich and poor is a canyon. Prohibition means liquor is outlawed but widely poured. The law is powerful enough to be feared — and corrupt enough to be bought.


Three forces exist in permanent tension: criminal organizations fighting for territory, law enforcement that can be bought, and ordinary people trying to make a life in a city that doesn’t play fair.

THE DOCKS

Industrial, dangerous. Smuggling, dock labor, union politics.

THE QUARTER

Dense, working class. Gang heartland, tenements, street crime.

DOWNTOWN

Formal, watched. City hall, police HQ, legitimate business.

THE GARDEN

Wealthy, quiet. Old money, political figures, high-value targets.

THE MARGINS

Lawless, contested. No man’s land. Dangerous and rich with opportunity.

No pre-built factions. Every gang is founded, named, and run by players. Earn your territory through influence, not assignment.

LIVING ECONOMY

Bootlegging supply chains, protection rackets, player-run speakeasies and betting shops. Market prices fluctuate. Money is hard-earned and easily lost.

CORRUPT LAW

A formal warrant system, bribery tracking, and internal affairs. The police are powerful — and buyable. That tension drives story.

TERRITORY WARS

Five districts to contest. Influence earned through activity, not combat alone. Weekly territory checkpoints. Alliances, betrayals, truces.

STORY FIRST

Staff are storytellers, not moderators. Named NPCs with agendas. Seeded contracts. World events that respond to player actions.

REAL CONSEQUENCES

Death costs you cash. Arrest means jail time. Reputation shapes how the world treats you. Every action has weight.

SERVER RULES

I. ROLEPLAY STANDARDS

1.1Stay in character at all times. Use OOC chat only when necessary.
1.2Your character must have a believable name, voice, and motivation.
1.3Fear RP is mandatory. Respond to credible threats as a real person would.
1.4New Life Rule applies to scenes, not memories. That scene ends. You do not return.
1.5Permadeath is voluntary and opt-in only.

II. VIOLENCE & CRIME

2.1No RDM. All violence requires prior in-character justification.
2.2No VDM. Do not use vehicles as weapons without strong IC justification.
2.3Robberies require minimum 2 aggressors and must give victims RP opportunity.
2.4Gang wars follow formal declaration. 24-hour notice. No early attacks.

III. GANG RULES

3.1Gangs require 3 founding members, a charter, and staff lore check.
3.2Maximum gang size is 15 members.
3.3Territory is earned through influence, not self-declared.
3.4Diplomacy must use in-game systems. No off-server circumvention.

IV. OOC CONDUCT

4.1Respect all players OOC. IC conflict encouraged; OOC hostility is not.
4.2No metagaming.
4.3No powergaming.
4.4Bug exploits are ban-worthy. Report to staff.
4.5Combat logging is an immediate ban.
